hillary johnson scored a pair of second half goals to lead concordia university (2-7, 1-3 nsic) to their first nsic win in the bob usselman era as they defeated the wayne state wildcats 3-0 on the road on sunday afternoon at the wsc soccer complex in wayne, neb.
the bears and wildcats played a scoreless first half but freshman
sam voeller scored an unassisted goal in the 51st minute to put cu ahead 1-0.
johnson netted her first goal in the 68th minute, assisted by
rachel vitense, giving concordia a commanding 2-0 lead.
the bears buried the wildcats in the 87th minute when johnson's second goal was drilled from 12 yards out off of wsc goalkeeper jamie anderson's hands and into the net.

hannah turgerson each contributed a shutout half for the golden bears. The cu defense did a good job of keeping the pressure off of the duo as they only saved a combined four shots, with gamoboni recording one save and turgerson stopping the other three.
cocnordia returns to action next saturday, sept. 24 when they play host to msu moorhead at concordia field at 1:00 p.m. On sunday, sept. 25, they host northern state at 1:00 p.m.
