#7 Concordia University (10-3, 2-0 NSIC) extended their win streak to four matches with a 3-0 (30-25, 30-25, 30-23) victory over Wayne State Saturday afternoon at the Gangelhoff Center in St. Paul, Minn.
Juniors
Kelsey Kyro and
Jessica Lucia led the the Golden Bear attack with 17 kills each, while both having a hitting percentage of over .400 (.467, .405). Lucia also contributed yet another double-double with 10 digs, while Kyro had three blocks.
Senior
Cailin Terhaar had another All-American performance with 52 assists on 55 Golden Bear kills. Senior
Valerie Olson had another double-digit kill performance with 10 kills.
Four Golden Bears racked up double-digit digs, led by junior
Megan Graham's 16, while senior
Danielle Niehls and junior
Ashley Olson contributed 13 apiece, holding Wayne State to a team hitting percentage of .139.
Wayne State was led by senior Jacey Kuck Schwarz's 14 kills and 10 digs. Sophomores Emily Schroeder and Laura Dolezal had solid games producing nine kills and 20 digs, respectively.
CU outhit WSC all three games, holding the Wildcats to a .053 hitting percentage in the clinching third game. Concordia also had an edge in the kills department, besting Wayne State 55-33.
The Golden Bears next take the court against the St. Cloud State Huskies on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 7:00 p.m.at the Gangelhoff Center.
