Jessica Lucia had 17 kills and 10 digs as #6 Concordia University swept St. Cloud State 30-18, 30-19 and 30-26 Tuesday evening at the Gangelhoff Center.
The Bears outhit the Huskies .444 and .361 to .026 and .108 in games one and two to take a commanding lead. SCSU was in control of the third game, holding a consistent lead of three to five points, but Concordia rallied for a late 28-25 lead and held on to seal the match with a 30-26 game three win.
Junior
Kelsey Kyro hit .522 and racked up 15 kills and three block assists, while senior
Valerie Olson tallied 14 kills and hit .385. Sophomore
Monica McNamara led Concordia with a game-high .556 hitting percentage and had six kills.
Senior setter
Cailin Terhaar fed the Concordia hitters, who hit .289 as a team, as she recorded 47 assists and also had seven digs and a pair of block assists.
Four CU players reached double-digit digs, led by juniors
Megan Graham and
Ashley Olson with 12. Lucia and senior
Danielle Niehls each added 10.
Concordia returns to action this weekend when they face Bemidji State on Friday and Minnesota Crookston on Sunday on the road.
