Minnesota Crookston held the Bears (1-5, 0-2 NSIC) scoreless in earning a 2-0 win over Concordia in NSIC action this afternoon in St. Paul. UMC goalkeeper Aimee Theobalt stopped 14 CU shots on goal to earn UMC's first win on the season (1-6, 1-1 NSIC).
Concordia outshot UM Crookston 19-12 in the game, but UMC was able to get two shots past CU goalie
Kara Gamboni in the game. The Eagles scored in the 17th minute on a foul kick by Christie Chappell and then again in the 63rd minute on a kick by Allison Warren, who got behind the Bears defense to score. Gamboni ended the game with eight saves.
The Bears will be in action on Sept. 17 when they travel to Southwest Minnesota State in NSIC action.
