The Bears dropped a pair of heartbreaking 1-0 games to Cal Baptist, losing the first game in the bottom of the ninth and the second game in the bottom of the seventh.

In the fifth game, the Bears stranded nine runners and had their opportunities to score. In the top of the third, the Bears had the bases loaded with no outs and were unable to take advantage. The Bears were held to just five hits in the game, and Kristen Schmidt pitched 8.1 innings, striking out five and allowing six hits and one unearned run in the bottom of the ninth.

In the second game, Cal Baptist got a key two-out double in the bottom of the seventh to score the game-winning run of Allison Paitich. The Bears managed only three hits in the second game and had only no runner that got past second base. Paitich allowed seven hits and struck out three.

The Bears fall to 8-9 on the season and will wrap up their spring trip to California on Mar. 5 at Concordia-Irvine.
