Carly Christensen had a game-high 24 points and eight rebounds to lead Concordia to an 89-64 win over Winona State Saturday night at the Gangelhoff Center.
Christensen shot 9 of 13 from the field and was 6 of 6 from the line as the Bears were hot all night from the field, shooting 55.9 % as a team. Jennifer Pozzani scored 18 points on 8 of 11 shooting and closed within 20 points of Concordia's all-time scoring record. She now stands at 1,449 career points. Lisa Harfield currently holds the record with 1,469 points.
Nakia Carlise provided a spark off the bench, scoring 16 points on 6 of 7 shooting, and Ashley Smith was just shy of a double-double, scoring 12 points and pulling down eight rebounds.
The Golden Bears defense held the Warriors to 39.6% shooting in the game and forced 15 turnovers.
Concordia returns to action next weekend, when they host Northern State on Friday and NSIC-leading MSU Moorhead on Saturday night. Tip-off for both games is set for 6:00 p.m.
