Five Golden Bears scored in double figures, and Jennifer Pozzani closed to within seven points of the all-time Concordia scoring record in the Bears' 84-65 win over the visiting Wolves.
Pozzani scored 13 points and added six rebounds, six assists, and three steals. Kayla Christensen also scored 13 going 5 of 9 from the field and 3 of 6 from three-point range. Heidi Gill contributed all night with 11 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Also scoring in double figures were Carly Christensen, who had 12 and added six rebounds, and Desirae Jones, who shook off an early ankle injury to score 12 points and add three assists and four rebounds.
The Bears broke open a close game late in the first half when leading 32-31, scored the final eight points of the half, giving them a 40-31 lead. They continued their hot shooting through the break, as they opened the second half on a 14-2 run to put the game out of reach for the Wolves.
The win puts Concordia at 6-3 in the conference, in a second-place tie, two games behind MSU Moorhead.
