For the second straight opponent in California, the Bears earned a split, falling 2-1 in the first game against CSU, Dominguez Hills before rebounding to win the second game 2-0.
The Bears were held to just two hits in the first game and left three runners on base. The Toros scored their two runs on three singles in the fifth inning. Concordia's Vanessa Dufresne got a two-out triple in the top of the sixth, but she was unable to score. The CSUDH pitcher struck out 13 CSP batters, while Concordia's Kristen Schmidt allowed two runs and struck out six in the loss.
In the second game, the Bears got on the board in the second inning when Tracie Enzler led off with a single, advanced to second on a sacrifice, and scored on a Dufresne hit. The Bears scored the winning run in the top of the seventh after Elizabeth Plante got a two-out double and advanced to third on a passed ball. She scored on another Dufresne single. Allison Paitich pitched 5.2 solid innings, allowing one run and striking out two, but Kristen Schmidt pitched the final four outs to get the win.
