Concordia was trailing 52-34 with 18:00 minutes left in the game, but the Golden Bears went on a 21-4 run over the next 8:36 to close the gap and win a classic 76-70 over Bemidji state.
Senior Brian Jamros was the leading scorer for Concordia for the fifth straight game, scoring 20 points, including five three-pointers. Justin Vandenberg scored 16 points and pulled down six rebounds. Kenneth Pointer also scored in double figures with 15 points and had a big three-point play with 56 seconds remaining to put the Bears up five. Marlon Walker had a team-high nine rebounds.
The Bears finish the conference schedule with a 17-10 overall record and 7-7 record in the NSIC. Concordia finished in a tie for 4th place with Wayne State, but they lose out on the tiebreaker and will travel to Wayne, Nebraska for an opening round NSIC tournament game against the Wildcats. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, March 2nd. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m.
