Lyndsey Hartleben recorded her first career hat trick with three second-half goals that gave the Bears a 3-1 win at MSU Moorhead. Hartleben scored on all three of her shots in the game to help improve the Bears' record to 4-9-1 (3-5-1 NSIC).
Hartleben gave the Bears a 1-0 lead just after the half in the 47th minute, assisted by
Rachel Vitense. Hartleben then gave the Bears a 2-0 lead in the 72nd minute on an unassisted goal. MSU Moorhead cut the score to 2-1 two minutes later on a goal by Danielle Reed, but Hartleben answered with her third goal and second unassisted goal in the 80th minute to secure the win.
For the game, the Bears were outshot 18-12, but they had one more shot on goal at 8-7.
Kara Gamboni stopped six shots to earn the win.
The Bears will return to action next Saturday, when they host Wayne State on Oct. 15th at 1:00 at Concordia Field.
