The Concordia baseball team took a pair of games on Sunday inAaberdeen, 7-6 and 23-8, to finish the weekend 3-1 against Northern State. On Saturday, the Bears dropped the first game 2-1, but they bounced back for a 14-0 win in the second game.
In the first game on Saturday, Andrew Wehr allowed only six hits, but he allowed two runs. Fisbeck was 3-3 with 2 RBIs for Northern State. For Concordia, Jon Schemmel was 1-3 with a RBI and a stolen base.
The second game Saturday saw the Bears' bats come to life, as CU scored 14 runs on 17 hits. Eric Quarberg was 3-5 with a double, homerun, and 3 RBIs, and Jon Schemmel was 3-5 with a home run and 3 RBIs. Jacob Campion pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing six hits and striking out three.
Sunday, the Bears earned a sweep of the Wolves, winning the first game in the top of the seventh on an error on Steve Butler's hit to center field. For the game, Concordia got doubles from David Schlundt, Jon Schemmel, and Andy Hanson. Schemmel also had a home run. Keelan Conley got his first win, allowing six runs on11 hits.
Once again, the CU bats found their stroke, as they pounded out 25 hits, including 7 doudbles and and four home runs in the second game. Matt Borman was 5-6 with two home runs, a double, and 5 RBIs, and Galen Wetzell was 5-5 with 4 runs ad 3 RBIs. Andrew Wehr got the win for the Bears.
