Concordia University (15-20, 12-12 NSIC) fell to conference-leading Winona State University (30-16-1, 17-5 NSIC) 16-3 and 15-10 Wednesday afternoon at Barnes Field.
Adam Flaherty took the loss in game one, working 3.2 innings dropping his record to 4-3 on the season. Jon Schemmel went 2-for-3 with a double, triple, run and RBI in the loss for the Bears, and Eric Quarberg jacked his ninth homer of the season, a two-run shot in the fourth to right center.
In game two, the Bears allowed five runs in the top of the first, but they came back with four of their own in the bottom half, topped off by a three-run blast to dead center by third baseman Steve Butler, his second homerun this season.
Matt Borman got into a groove after allowing five in the first, retiring nine of his next ten batters. But a three-run, two-out rally by the Warriors extended their lead to 8-4 and knocked Borman out of the game.
The bullpen could not silence the Warriors' bats, as they went off for seven more runs, quelling a late rally by Concordia.
Borman falls to 3-4 on the season with the loss. The Bears return to action this weekend when they go on the road to take on Wayne State College for Saturday/Sunday doubleheaders to close out their Northern Sun schedule.
