The Concordia baseball team dropped a pair of NSIC games at Winona State on Thursday, losing 1-0 and 3-2. The Bears drop to 12-17 (9-9 NSIC).
In the first game, Matt Borman pitched a three-hitter, but he was unable to get any run support. The Warrior run in came when Adam Gust doubled to lead off the second and then came around to score on back-to-back ground balls to second base. The Bears scatted five hits in the game, but they had no runner past second base.
In the second game, Concordia was leading 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh before Winona State scored the winning run. Ben Vazquez scored on an errant throw during a botched squeeze play to give Winona State a 3-2 win. The Bears scattered nine hits in the game, including 3-4 for Jon Schemmel and a double for Galen Wetzell. Adam Flaherty took the loss for the Bears.
