Junior Kayla Christensen had the hot hand for the #6 Concordia University Golden Bears (24-2, 14-1 NSIC) as they rolled over Northern State University 82-63 in conference action. Kayla had a game-high 28 points on 11-of-16 shooting, nailing six threes in the decisive victory.
Lindsey Williams scored a career-high 12 points and drilled four threes, while Heidi Gill hauled in eight rebounds. Desirae Jones dished out five assists.
The Bears outshot the Wolves from the field 47.5 percent to 38.6 percent. CU was deadly from long range, knocking down 15 of 32 to NSU's 4 of 16. The Bears improve to 17-0 on the season when hitting more threes than their opponent. The Golden Bears were outscored in the paint 30-18, but that was not enough for the Wolves to overcome CU's three-point shooting barrage.
The Golden Bears return home Saturday night in their regular-season finale to take on MSU Moorhead. Game time is 6:00 p.m. at the Gangelhoff Center.
