No. 4 Concordia University extended their winning streak to 13 matches, defeating Minnesota State, Mankato in four games, 29-31, 30-25, 30-21, 30-15. Seniors
Joy Wubben and
Tia Lindberg led the CSP attack with 15 kills each, with Wubben recording eight blocks and Lindberg recording six.
The Bears could not hang on to game one despite Lindberg starting off the game with eight kills in eight chances, as MSU rallied to steal the game from Concordia, 31-29.
The Mavericks gave the Bears trouble in each of the next two games, but Concordia showed poise in defending their ranking and their streak. They were able to play well at the end of each game before throttling Minnesota State, Mankato in game five with a decisive 30-15 win.
Sophomores
Jessica Lucia and
Megan Graham each picked up 21 digs for CSP, with Lucia also recording a double-double with ten kills. Junior
Valerie Olson pitched in with 14 kills in the contest while conference-leading junior setter
Cailin Terhaar had 55 set assists.
The Bears return to action tomorrow at home against Winona State at 5:00 for Homecoming.
