Concordia wins 20th game in sweep over Winona State

Seniors Joy Wubben and Tia Lindberg had 18 and 17 kills, respectively, to lead Concordia (20-1, 8-0 NSIC) to victory over Winona State (7-17, 1-7 NSIC)  in three games (30-13, 30-21, 30-26) on Homecoming at the Gangelhoff Center.

The Bears set the tone early by dominating the Warriors with a 30-13 win in the first game of the match. Winona State picked up their play in the final two games, but it was not enough to overcome CSP's dominant play with 27 kills in the final game to close out the Warriors. CSP extended their winning streak to 14 matches with the victory.

Lindberg hit a game-high .625 while Kelsey Kyro hit a solid .500 with 13 kills and Wubben added a .429 hitting percentage to pace the Bears, who hit .370 as a team in the match. Setter Cailin Terhaar notched 55 set assists for the second consecutive match with Megan Graham pitching in 18 digs.

The Bears held their opponent to a sub-.200 hitting percentage for the second consecutive match. A -.065 hitting percentage in the first game was difficult for WSU to recover from, as they ended up hitting .174 for the match. CSP out-blocked the Warriors 8-0 in the contest.

Next weekend, the Bears close out their five-match home stand when Northern State and #18 MSU Moorhead crash the Gangelhoff.
