Jim Stangler

Jim Stangler rejoined his alma mater as the assistant offensive line coach for the 2018 season. A 1998 graduate of Concordia with a major in elementary education, Stangler played baseball for the Comets prior to their move to the NCAA Division II Level. He joins the coaching staff after serving as the head coach for St. Agnes High School for five years. During his last season, Stangler was named District Coach of the Year.

His coaching background includes many stops along the way. He started his coaching career at Park Center High School where he coached football, wrestling and baseball. Stangler moved on to St. Agnes High School were he served as the offensive coordinator for five years. From there, he went to coach at St. Bernard's High School where he served as the co-offensive coordinator and the special teams coordinator. Stangler helped the Bulldogs to the Tri-Metro Conference championship for the first time since 1973.  He also coached the team to their first and only trip to the MSHSL State Tournament. Following St. Bernard's, Stangler coached at a variety of schools including Fridley and Centennial before returning to St. Agnes as the head coach.

Stangler is originally from Kilkenny, Minnesota where he attended Waterville-Elysian-Morristown High School and played football for Hall of Fame coach Jon Bakken. He currently resides in Fridley with his wife, Tonya, and their children, Evan, Delaney and Avery.
