Concordia University St. Paul Athletics

Valerie Childs enters her second season with the Golden Bears in 2025. Childs joined Concordia- St. Paul athletics as a graduate assistant coach in the fall of 2024.

Childs comes to CSP after spending the past five years as a member of the University of Sioux Falls Swim team where she competed at the NSIC Championships every year collecting multiple titles. Childs achieved two NSIC conference records including breaking the NSIC Championships meet record in the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay in 2022. 

Childs qualified for the 2024 NCAA DII Championships where she competed in the 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 free and 100 free. 

She earned degrees in Exercise Science (BS) and Psychology (BA) while at the University of Sioux Falls in addition to coaching the Sioux Falls Club swim team. 

Childs swam for the Sea Devils Club Team and has now returned to the team as a coach.
