Joe Hoffer

Joe Hoffer joined the Concordia training staff in 2017 and is the head trainer for the baseball, volleyball and swim & dive teams.
 
Previously to Concordia, Hoffer has worked for the University of Alabama, USA Baseball, the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and Northwestern (La.) State University. His longest stint was at Alabama, where he spent ten years as the head trainer for the Crimson Tide baseball team.
 
Before Alabama, Hoffer completed two years of work at UW-Stout, where he served as both the athletic trainer and the pitching coach. When he worked with USA baseball, Hoffer was the head trainer for the under-18 team that advanced to the World Championships in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He also spent two years at Northwestern State working with the football, track and field, and baseball programs.  
 
Hoffer graduated from St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota with a degree in exercise physiology with an emphasis in athletic training. He also played four years of tennis for the Saints, on a team that advanced to the NCAA Regional finals every year of his career, including winning the Regional team title in 2001.
 
He earned a Master of Science degree in sports administration and health promotion from Northwestern State in 2005.

In addition to his previous athletic training roles, Hoffer also gained teaching experience, teaching first aid, kinesiology, and wellness courses and guest lecturing in different rehabilitation techniques. 

Hoffer holds several certifications and memberships, including being a member of the National Athletic Traniner's Association (NATA) and Southeastern Athletic Trainer's Association (SEATA). He is also a CAATE Approved Clinical Instructor and Functional Movement Screen, Level 1 Professional.
