Christian Boivin joined the Golden Bear football coaching staff in the spring of 2026 as special teams coordinator while working with the safeties.

In 2025, Boivin played for Coach Schu at Saginaw Valley State University as a graduate transfer and was voted team captain by his peers. He started 11 games at linebacker and played on special teams, leading the team with 107 tackles. He was selected as an All-Conference linebacker in the GLIAC and named the SVSU team MVP.

Prior to playing for Schumacher and the Cardinals, Boivin was a linebacker and four-year starter on special teams contributor for the Michigan Wolverines from 2021-24. He contributed on all our phases of the Michigan special teams units and his career included three Big Ten titles and an undefeated (15-0) 2023 National Championship season. 

A Traverse City, Michigan native, was a four-sport athlete at Traverse City West and a two-time All-State Dream Team honoree at linebacker and safety.

Boivin earned a degree from the School of Kinesiology at the University Michigan and is currently working towards an MBA.
