Brian Smith is in his second season with the Golden Bears coaching staff as a graduate assistant for the 2023-24 season.
A three-year contributor at Bethany Lutheran after transferring in from Waldorf, Smith earned All-Conference First Team honors in his senior season with the Vikings. Smith paced the squad with 17.8 points and 3.8 assists while pulling down 4.8 boards in 32.2 minutes per night in his final season at BLC. Over his three seasons, he tallied 954 career points (15.6 per game) to go along with 295 assists (4.8 per game) and 237 rebounds (3.9 per game) while connecting on 42.6% from the floor, 35.2% from beyond the arc and 81.1% from the free throw line in 61 games.
Smith is a Champlin Park High School grad, where he was named an All-Conference performer on the court, and a Brooklyn Park, Minn. native.
