Peter "Boomer" Roepke joined the Concordia-St. Paul coaching staff in February, 2025 as the program's offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.
He comes to Concordia following a strong tenure as the associate head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Northwestern St. Paul where he spent five seasons including four as the program's offensive coordinator.
He made a strong impact in his time at UNW, helping the program from a 3-7 record in 2021 to three-straight winning seasons in 2022 (6-5 overall, 6-0 UMAC), 2023 (6-4 overall, 4-1 UMAC) and 2024 (7-4 overall, 7-0 UMAC). Following the shortened/canceled COVID school year in 2020-21, Roepke helped guide the Eagles to a 20-4 record during conference play in four seasons.
The Reno (Nev.) High School grad and Southern California native earned varsity letters as a two-sport college athlete at the University of Southern California where he competed as a swimmer and walk-on punter turned cornerback. His college football career was led by coaches Pete Carroll and Lane Kiffin, which led to his first coaching experience as a graduate student coach for the Trojans as he pursued his MBA.
During his coaching stint with the Trojans, Roepke worked with the quarterbacks and wide receivers including NFL standout quarterback Sam Darnold and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.
He earned a bachelor's degree in communication before securing his MBA from USC.
Roepke then spent the 2016 season as the special teams coordinator and wide receivers coach at Pasadena Community College prior to heading back to the NCAA Division I ranks at Iowa State University for three seasons (2017-19) serving in multiple positions in the program with special teams and quarterbacks, where his coaching included playing a role in the recruitment of NFL quarterback Brock Purdy.
His coaching career includes bowl experience, helping the Trojans reach the 2015 Holiday Bowl while the Cylcones went to the Liberty Bowl in 2017, the Alamo Bowl in 2018 and the Camping World Bowl in 2019.
