Hailey Cowles

Hailey Cowles joined the Concordia University volleyball coaching staff for the 2012 season after playing collegiately at the University of Minnesota. Cowles, a native of Eden Prairie, Minn., was one of two team captains for the Gophers in 2011 and ranks sixth in team history with 1,286 career digs.

In her first year on staff for the Golden Bears, she helped the team win a national championship - the sixth-straight Division II title for the program.
 
After tearing her ACL in 2010, Cowles returned to the lineup for her senior year as a six-rotation player. She ranked first on the squad in total attacks (807), second in service aces (21) and digs (370), and fourth in kills (255, 2.06 per set) and assists (74).
 
In 2009, the outside hitter played in 35 of 36 matches on the season, averaging 2.71 digs and 1.46 kills per set. The Gophers advanced to the Final Four where Cowles was named to the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team.
 
Cowles played club ball for Northern Lights, who went undefeated and won the National Championship in the 17 & Under Junior Nationals – Cowles was named to the All-Tournament Team.
 
She graduated from Eden Prairie in 2007 after being a four-year letterwinner. Cowles was named Ms. Minnesota Volleyball and was also the Star Tribune Metro Players of the Year in 2006. She was named a prepvolleyball.com High School All-American as a senior, named to the prepvolleyball.com "Senior Aces" list, received All-State honors in her final two seasons at Eden Prairie High School, named Star Tribune All-Metro in 2005 and was a Pioneer Press First-Team All-Metro Honoree in 2006.
 
Cowles was born on May 26, 1989 to parents Jeff and Susan. She majored in Business and Marketing Education at the University of Minnesota.
