Burrell, a native of Rexburg, Idaho, had spent the previous two seasons working as a graduate assistant under Bellis for the CSP soccer program.

Prior to joining the CSP coaching staff in the summer of 2020, Burrell was no stranger to the NSIC as she played two seasons for the University of Mary team from 2018-19. After an impressive stretch in which she scored 16 goals and collected six assists in her first two collegiate seasons with Sheridan College, Burrell carried over that success with the Marauders as she scored seven goals and contributed four assists over 37 matches. In her senior season, she started all 18 games, scoring five goals on 44 shots (28 on goal) to go along with three assists in her 1532 minutes of action.

Burrell earned her bachelor's degree from UMary in university studies and is working to complete her master's degree in sport management from Concordia.

She got her coaching start at the club level while in college as she spent two years coaching with Magic Soccer FC in Bismarck, N.D. Burrell spent time coaching the U18/19 team as well as the U10 team.
