Lydia Sutton joins Concordia lacrosse in its third season, bringing a wealth of lacrosse playing and coaching experience. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Sutton moved to Minnesota as a child and graduated from the Blake School where she helped her soccer team advance to the State Tournament five times and her lacrosse team win five consecutive state championships.

While at Blake, Sutton garnered a multitude of awards, including being named US All-American (2x), Under-Armour All-American, Minnesota Player of the Year (2x), Epoch Player of the Year, and Minnesota’s Ms. Lacrosse. She also was a four-time All-Minnesota selection and a five-time Minnesota All-Tournament team honoree.

Sutton went on to play at the University of Southern California being a four-year contributor on defense, as well as a captain her senior season. While at USC, she was named to the PAC12 All-Conference team, the IWLCA All-Region team, and the IWLCA All-American third team. She graduated from USC in the spring of 2018 with a degree in psychology.

Internationally, Sutton was a U19 Canadian Women’s Lacrosse gold medalist, a Canadian Senior Women’s Lacrosse silver medalist, and named an All-World U19 player.

Sutton was the first defender selected in the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League college draft and is currently a member of the Upstate New York Pride.

Lydia has five years of experience coaching youth and middle school players and brings her passion for developing lacrosse skills in Minnesota to the Concordia program.
