Kelsey Long enters her third season with CSP for the 2024-25 season. Long joined the Golden Bear lacrosse staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2022-23 academic year.
Long's coaching career began at the youth and prep level. She spent two seasons each with Anoka High School and Wayzata High School as an assistant coach before being hired as varsity head coach at Rosemount High School prior to the 2018-2019 academic year. She has also coached within Rosemount, Wayzata and Anoka youth programs during her time with each of the communities high school programs.
During her time at Rosemount, Long brought the program to their first MSHSL State Tournament appearance in 2021, along with a consecutive appearance the following year in 2022, taking third and fourth place, respectively. She was named the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association Head Coach of the Year in 2021. Long continues to be the varsity head coach at Rosemount High School.
Long has served as a head coach with True Lacrosse MN, a traveling club program, since 2016, coaching and developing high school recruits into college commits, including multiple players who landed at CSP. She also brings 9+ years of volunteer experience in various leadership roles within the lacrosse community on a community and state level.
Long attended the University of St. Thomas, earning a B.A. degree in business administration - human resources management in 2015. She is currently employed full-time as a human resources associate with a local Twin Cities based consulting firm.
