Malu Avila joined the Concordia swimming & diving program as a graduate assistant coach prior to the 2022-23 season.
Prior to Concordia, Avila was a student at Northern State University, earning a degree in international business and business management while competing for the Wolves' swim team.
A well-rounded student-athlete, Avila gained important professional experience by working as an office assistant in the NSU Office of International Programs while also contributing to the NSU International Club as a co-curricular activity. Her experience on the swim team included working with the program's swimming clinics, helping to plan and organize schedules for students taking swimming lessons and training young students new swimming skills.
