Ryan Koch enters his fifth season with the Concordia track & field coaching staff in the 2018-19 season, working with multi events (decathlon/heptathlon) as well as the hurdlers and javelin throwers.

Koch previously competed and coached at St. Cloud State University where he was a four-time NCAA Division II Championship qualifier and three-time Division II All-American in the decathlon. He also put his athleticism on display as a two-sport star as a four year starter at wide receiver for the Huskies football team.

He was named the 2006 NCAA Division II Student-Athlete of the Year, a five-time Academic All-American (3 track, 2 football) and earned the 2007 NCAA Today's Top-VIII Award which is the highest award given by the NCAA (now known as Today's Top-10).

The Madison, Wis. native is married to Concordia assistant track coach Heather Miller who competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics as a heptathlete. In addition to coaching on the track & field staff, Koch works as a software developer as an independent contractor.
