Craig Waryan rejoins the staff for his 10th year as an assistant coach for the men's and women's golf teams and is currently a teaching professional at Edinburgh USA in Brooklyn Park, Minn. He also is employed as Senior West Coast Instructor for the Bird Golf Academy in Avondale, Arizona. Coach Waryan has also previously served as swing coach for the University of Minnesota and Macalester College golf programs.
Waryan is a 35-year PGA member and the 87th PGA member to gain coveted "Master Professional" status in the United States. In August of 2009 Craig was voted Top Instructor in the state of Minnesota by Golf Digest magazine. He is also a two-time winner of the Minnesota PGA Golf Professional of the Year Award and the 2004 Minnesota Section PGA Teacher of the Year. Coach Waryan has appeared on both Golf Digest and Golf Magazines' Top-10 (in Wisconsin and Minnesota) Teachers lists, several times. He has authored golf instruction manuals, providing to instructors training on the use of proper technique, teaching methods, and target orientation. He has published articles in national golf magazines and has made numerous appearances on Twin City television. He also is the co-host of the show “Tee-to-Green” on KFAN FM 100.3 with “The Common Man” Dan Cole every Saturday morning during the summer.
Coach Waryan has taught golf at every level, from tour players to beginning golfers. Many of Craig's students play on the LPGA Tour and national tournament level golf. Craig's students have won over 30 state championships, a national title and a national runner-up finish. His energetic and engaging style is great for champions as well as entry level players
