Josh Baker is in his second year as a student assistant with the Golden Bears in 2014-15 after spending one season as a student assistant and another as a player at Hamline University before transferring to Concordia.
The Dean's List student is working towards a degree in sport management and will pursue graduate school after graduating from Concordia in 2016 with an eye towards becoming a college basketball coach in his professional career.
A 2000 graduate of Henning High School where he played prep basketball, Baker has prior coaching experience as well. He served as head coach at 2K3 Summer Blast Basketball Camp in 2003 and was a varsity volunteer and sixth grade head coach with the St. Paul Academy boys basketball program in 2011. He helped the sixth grade squad improve from a 1-9 mark the previous year to a 10-1 season.
Born in Coon Rapids, Minn., Baker grew up in Merced, Calif. He currently resides in Falcon Heights with his wife, Ana who is a graduate of Hamline University. Josh has also spent five years working with Kleinman Realty Company while Ana has been a teacher in the Shakopee school district for the past four years.
