Sam Fagely

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Sam Fagely joined the Concordia coaching staff in the 2012 season and works with catchers and outfielders.

He completed his career on the diamond for the Golden Bears in the 2011 season as he earned ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Gold Glove honors as an outfielder, while earning Daktronics & NCBWA All-Region honors as a utility player for his solid all-around play.

He finished his playing career as a .300 career hitter in 337 at bats, cracking the 100-hit milestone late in his senior year, finishing with 101. He hit a career-best .350 as a senior and drove in 21 runs in back-to-back seasons.

One of the hardest working players in program history, Fagely had his batting average increase every season as a Golden Bear, nearly doubling his rookie average as a reserve.

A consummate team player, he was perhaps an even better defensive catcher than he was in the outfield where he earned Gold Glove honors. The versatile player emerged as a team leader by his senior campaign, traits that are well-served on the coaching staff.
