This award is named in honor of Jed "Kos" Kosmoski, the special assistant to the head baseball coach and weight room manager for CSP athletics for many years. "Kos" was a key part of the fabric of Concordia athletics during his time with the Golden Bears and made many deep connections with the student-athletes, coaches and administrators. "Kos" was also a team manager for the Hamline Pipers hockey team and was known for his tremendous love of sports and a vast hat collection. He passed away in the summer of 2017, but his legacy remains strong at Concordia.
The Spirit of Kos Award was founded in 2018 and is one of just two awards presented annually by the baseball team.
