Kopetzki and West named to All-NSIC squad

Both players earn their first career all-conference selections

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released the 2025-26 Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams on Thursday morning and Concordia-St. Paul junior Ben Kopetzki was named All-NSIC First Team while senior Sam West was named to the Second Team.
 
It marks the first career all-conference selection for both players. Kopetzki finished as the conference's scoring leader with 482 points scored in NSIC play, while West led the conference with 2.5 steals per game.

The Golden Bears, who finished the regular season with a record of 19-9, secured the third seed and a first-round bye in the upcoming NSIC Tournament, where they are set to face sixth-seeded Minnesota Duluth in the quarterfinals on Sunday at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.


#5 Ben Kopetzki (G, 6-0, Jr., Andover, Minn./Andover HS)

  • Two-time NSIC Player of the Week (11/24, 2/16)
  • Led the NSIC with 21.9 points per game in conference play this season
  • Added 3.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game
  • Shot 45.3% from the field and 39.2% from beyond the arc in conference play
  • Sat sixth in the NSIC with an 86.4% free throw percentage in league play
  • Ranked 10th in the NSIC with a 1.5 assists-to-turnover ratio in conference play
  • Sits 13th in Division II with 21.3 points per game this season
  • Ranks sixth in Division II with 596 points scored this year
  • Has scored 20 or more points in 17 games this season, including two with 30 or more points
 


#4 Sam West (F, 6-4, Sr., Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS)
  • All-NSIC Second Team
  • Led the NSIC with 2.5 steals per game in conference play
  • Ranked third in the NSIC with 5.1 assists per game in conference play
  • Ranked eighth in NSIC play with a 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio
  • Has averaged 11.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 2.5 steals per game this season for CSP
  • Ranks 15th in Division II in steals per game
  • Ranks 26th in Division II in assists per game
  • Scored a season-high 24 points on 9-12 shooting in a win at Bemidji State (1/23)
