MARSHALL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's swim and dive team split its double dual on Saturday afternoon at the Don Palm Natatorium, defeating Southwest Minnesota State 194.5-103.5 while falling to Minnesota State 205-93.

Freshman Alejandra Lira led the Golden Bears in the pool, earning a first-place finish in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:46.49. She also placed second in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:13.65 and the 500-yard freestyle at 5:17.32.

Estee VerSteeg added a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 1:58.03. The freshman also placed second in the 50-yard freestyle at 24.55 and third in the 100-yard freestyle at 53.95.

On the diving boards, Chloe Jones captured first place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 205.20. She was joined by Ellie Leisure and Mina Dahl, who placed third and sixth, respectively, in the 1-meter dive. Dahl also earned third place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 197.25.

The Golden Bears added several other strong performances, including second-place finishes from Claire Briest in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Kaylie Johnson, VerSteeg, Rebecca Hildebrand and Lara Elwan finished third with a time of 1:40.34.

The Navy and Gold will return to action on Nov. 6 to face St. Thomas and Minnesota State in a double dual beginning at 5 p.m. in Mankato, Minn.
