ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's soccer team (5-0, 2-0 NSIC) will look to keep their winning streak alive and set a new program record with a pair of home NSIC games this weekend against the Beavers of Minot State and Marauders of UMary.
Action will start on Friday at 7 p.m against the Beavers and wrap-up on Sunday when the Golden Bears face the Marauders at 1 p.m. Both games will take place at Sea Foam Stadium here in St. Paul, Minn.
With a win on Friday, the Navy and Gold will set a new program best start at 6-0 with another win on Sunday they can extend the streak to 7-0.
RECAP OF THE WEEK
Game One: CSP 3, Jamestown 1
Three Golden Bears found the net in the win including Nicole Moore, Brooke Nelson and Sophia Haase.
It was a dominant effort from the Navy and Gold who held a 13-5 overall shot advantage including a 8-0 shot advantage in the first.
In the first half, CSP got off three shots before Nicole Moore scored in the 15th-minute to get Concordia on the board first to earn her first collegiate goal.
Just three minutes later Freshman Brooke Nelson found the net unassisted to score her first collegiate goal in just her fourth game for the Navy and Gold. Nelson's goal extended the CSP lead 2-0 and marked the eventual game-winner.
Concordia worked to keep the ball on their side of the pitch before midfielder Sophia Haase scored her third goal of the season in the 31st minute with an assist by Lexi Pettit.
With the Golden Bears up 3-0, the high-willed offense wasn't going away, two more shots riffled off before the end of the half.
In the second half, Jamestown was not going to be silent and made their presence known before scoring their lone goal in the 68th minute.The Navy and Gold doubled down on their pressure and got the victory to end the game.
Leading the CSP defense was Belle Abruzzo and Maddison Balashaitis who each played a full 90-minute outing and held a defense that saw just two shots on goal.
Goalkeeper Sydney Potter earned her third start of the season in net, playing the entirety of the first half before Kayla Mutuzak came in at the start of the second. Mutuzak made one save to bring her season total to three.
Game Two: CSP 2, Northern State 1
Nicole Moore and Lexi Pettit highlighted the game for the Navy and Gold, each scoring a goal to push the team to their first 5-0 start to a season since 2018.
In the first half, Concordia riffled off the first shot of the game before NSU regained possession and rifled off a shot of their own. After a back-and-forth possession change the Wolves found the net first, scoring in the 17th-minute by Savannah Funk.
With their backs against the wall for the first time this season, the Golden Bears never looked back and responded with a goal in the 33rd-minute to even the score. It was Nicole Moore with the score to mark her second-straight game with a goal. She was assisted on the play by freshman Izzy Sipe.
With a fresh game back on the sheet, the Navy and Gold worked to take the lead with four shots to end the first half.
Coming out for the second half, CSP was on the hunt for their game-winning score, but the Wolves weren't going to make it easy. Four back-to-back quick shots by Northern pushed the defense to make play after play before the offense was able to regain control and head for the net.
In the 76th-minute, Lexi Pettit scored the eventual game-winning goal on an assist by Ashley Bennett to give Concordia their first lead of the day. Pettit earned her first goal of the season and second of her career with the score.
With 14 minutes left to play, the CSP defense was able to hold the Wolves offense to just one shot that was saved by goalkeeper Syndey Potter to earn the victory.
The Golden Bears held a 14-7 shot advantage and 5-1 corner kick advantage in the game.
Leading the defense for the Navy and Gold was Belle Abruzzo and Clare Snapko who each played a full 90-minute outing on the pitch and held the Wolves offense to just two shots on goal. This was Abruzzo's team-leading fourth full game of the season.
Goalkeeper Potter started in her fourth game of the season where she made two saves to bring her season total to nine.
SEASON LEADERS
Sophia Haase continues to lead the team in points (6) and goals (3) which ranks T-3rd in the NSIC.
Ashley Bennett leads the team in assists with two which ranks T-3rd in the NSIC.
Goalkeeper Sydney Potter has a 4-0 record in four starts this season and has recorded two shutouts on 23 shots faced. Her .900 save percentage ranks third in the NSIC.
HISTORY BETWEEN CSP AND MINOT
The two programs have met a total of 15 times dating back to September 29, 2012. The Beavers currently own a 7-5-3 all-time advantage over the Golden Bears.
Since the 2019 season, CSP has owned a 5-0-3 record including a 1-0 win earlier this season at Sea Foam Stadium in a non-conference game.
Friday's contest will mark the fourth game between the two schools in the last two seasons. Last season, Concordia earned a 3-0 win in the regular season before the two teams met in the NSIC Tournament Semifinals. After a scoreless regulation game and two overtimes, the Beavers advanced to the Championship game on penalty kicks.

Minot State posted a (11-4-5, 8-3-3 NSIC) record in the 2024 season where they made it to the NSIC Tournament Championship, falling to Minnesota State 2-0.
Minot was picked to finish eighth in the 2025 NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll with 128 points right behind Northern State.
The Beavers currently sit at (0-4-1, 0-1-1 NSIC) after playing to a 2-2 draw against St. Cloud State and falling 5-0 to Minnesota State at home.
The player to watch for Minot State is Anna Miotto who leads the team with three points (1 goal, 1 assist) and was named the 2024 NSIC Freshman of the Year. Miotto tallied seven goals and two assists last season on route to being named All-NSIC Second-Team and Team USC All-Central Region Second-Team.

The two programs have met a total of 23 times dating back to September 21, 2002. The Marauders currently hold a 17-4-2 all-time record.
Last season, the Golden Bears topped the Marauders 1-0 at Sea Foam Stadium led by a game-winning goal from Clare Snapko.

UMary posted a (11-4-4, 8-3-3 NSIC) record in the 2024 season where they made it to the NSIC Tournament Semifinals, falling to Minnesota State in penalty kicks.
UMary was picked to finish sixth in the 2025 NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll with 159 points right behind Augustana.
The Marauders currently sit at (2-3, 0-2 NSIC) after falling to both Minnesota State and St. Cloud State at home by a combined score of 3-0.
The player to watch for UMary is Freshman Dina Polanco who has scored a team-leading three goals and ranks third in the NSIC.
