BEMIDJI, Minn. – T he No. 6 Concordia-St. Paul volleyball team (23-4, 18-1 NSIC) pushed its winning streak to 12 straight matches on Friday evening, sweeping Bemidji State (7-20, 4-15 NSIC) by scores of 25-23, 25-19, and 25-19 in a road victory at BSU Gymnasium.
The Golden Bears delivered another steady performance, finishing with 44 kills on .248 hitting while limiting the Beavers to .154 offensively. Concordia held statistical advantages across the board, including assists (42–32), digs (55–52), blocks (10–4), and aces (8–2), while also forcing 17 Bemidji attack errors.
The win extended CSP's winning streak over Bemidji State to 38 straight matches, with 35 of those being sweeps. Concordia now holds an all-time record of 39-8-1 against the Beavers.
Sophomore
Makenna Nold led the attack with a match-high 14 kills, adding 11 digs and five blocks for 18 points. Senior
Ellie Sieling followed with nine kills, 12 digs, two blocks, and an ace, while junior
Mehlayna Straub tallied an efficient 10 kills on .389 hitting along with three blocks.
Freshman
Kaelyn Snoozy contributed seven kills and three blocks, and junior
Julia Gordon added three kills and a pair of block assists.
At the service line, redshirt freshman setter
Audrey Waterman proved pivotal, recording four aces to go along with 19 assists and a kill. Fellow setter
Reagan Hickey added 19 assists and four digs of her own.
Defensively, senior libero
Cassie Sieling anchored the back row with a match-high 15 digs and two aces. Senior
Natalee Rolbiecki chipped in 11 digs and an ace of her own.
Bemidji State was led by Nevaeh Carlson, Grace Hoffard, and Ava Athman, who each finished with seven or eight kills, while libero Kylie Struble collected a team-high 11 digs.
The opening set featured five ties and two lead changes before CSP pulled away late, closing the frame 25-23 behind 13 team kills. Concordia's blockers ignited in set two, producing four team blocks while serving three aces to secure a 25-19 win. In the final set, the Golden Bears held a narrow 21-19 advantage late in the frame before claiming four straight points to win the set 25-19 and seal the sweep despite a late Beaver push.
The Golden Bears will close out the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a match at Minnesota Duluth. With a win over the Bulldogs, the Bears would clinch at least a share of their 15
th NSIC regular season championship, their first since 2017.
