AUSTIN, Texas - The 2024 CSC Academic All-America® baseball teams were released on Tuesday and Concordia-St. Paul's Nick Thimsen was awarded with a third-team selection. Thimsen becomes the second Golden Bear all-time to make an Academic All-American® team.
The senior adds to his many honors including being named to the D2 Baseball All-America Second Team and the 64 Analytics D2 All-America Team. Thimsen finished his career hitting the fifth-most home runs in school history with 27. He finished with a 3.62 GPA after studying mathematics and actuarial science at Concordia.
CSP's Bryan Lippincott was named as a First Team Academic All-American® in 2011 and 2012. Lippincott was also named the Academic All-American® of the Year after both selections to the first team. He will be inducted into the NSIC Hall of Fame on Tuesday, July 9.
The Division II team boasts a 3.83 average GPA with a 3.84 average for the first team. Five of the 34 Division II selections have a cumulative 4.0 grade point average.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Division II Academic All-America® program.
