ST. PAUL, Minn. – The #13 Concordia-St. Paul volleyball team (11-4, 6-1 NSIC) will return home this weekend to host a pair of NSIC matches, taking on #21 Northern State (S.D.) (11-2, 3-2 NSIC) on Friday and MSU Moorhead (7-6, 2-3 NSIC) on Saturday.

Teagan Starkey was named the NSIC Setter of the Week for her performance in the first two matches as she led the NSIC with an average of 14.67 assists per set.
IN THE POLLS
The Golden Bears dropped one spots to #13 in the most recent AVCA Coaches Poll after a 2-0 week last week. Concordia has been a mainstay near the top of the poll for nearly two decades as they have only ranked outside the top-10 for five weeks since 2003, never ranking below #15. Heading into the season, the Golden Bears have ranked #1 at least once in 15 of the past 18 seasons. In total, CSP has spent an incredible 83 weeks at the top team in the country since debuting there in the 2004 preseason poll.
MILESTONE WATCH

Ellie Sieling sits just 14 digs shy of the 1,000 career digs mark with 986 digs in her three seasons at CSP. She would be just the 23
rd member of the club all-time, joining teammate

TEAM LEADERS
Teagan Starkey was named the NSIC Setter of the Week for the second time this season after leading the Bears to a pair of wins over Minot State and UMary last weekend, averaging 14.67 set assists and 0.83 service aces per set in the two matches, leading the NSIC in each category that week. For the season, Starkey leads the NSIC and all of NCAA Division II with an average of 12.57 assists per set.
Middle blocker
Claudia Stahlke has also been a national leader at her position, raking first in the NSIC and seventh in Division II with an average of 1.41 blocks per set. Her 79 total blocks are the most in the conference, and the fourth-most in all of Division II. Stahlke has also been an important presence for the Golden Bear offense, leading the team with a .385 hitting percentage and ranking third with 133 total kills (2.38 per set).
Libero
Cassie Sieling has anchored the defensive effort for the Golden Bears, ranking sixth in the conference with 234 total digs and 10
th in the conference with an average of 4.18 per set.
Sophia Andersen continues to pace the Golden Bear offense, ranking sixth in the NSIC with an average of 3.14 kills per set. Her 160 total kills lead the team while her hitting percentage of .239 ranks third among players with at least 100 attacks.
Mehlayna Straub ranks second on the team with 146 kills this season (2.65 per set) on a .296 hitting percentage.
Ellie Sieling has been an effective two-way player for the Bears, ranking second on the team with 160 digs (2.86 per set) and adding 128 kills (2.29 per set).
HISTORY AGAINST NORTHERN STATE
The Golden Bears hold a 38-8 advantage in the series all-time with Northern State, including a mark of 24-3 at the Gangelhoff Center. Concordia has won four straight over the Wolves, with the last Golden Bear loss coming on November 5, 2021 in St. Paul. In their two meetings last season, Concordia won in four sets on the road in September and swept the Wolves at the Gangelhoff Center in November.

Ranking #21 in the most recent AVCA Coaches Poll, the Wolves have posted a record of 11-2 and a 3-2 mark in conference play this season. Northern State has faced two ranked opponents so far this year, falling in straight sets to #8 Wayne State and dropping a five-set match to #4 Southwest Minnesota State.
Libero Abby Meister has led the Wolves on defense, leading the conference and ranking 12
th in all of Division II with an average of 5.56 digs per set.
HISTORY AGAINST MSU MOORHEAD
CSP has posted an all-time record of 36-3 in the series with the Dragons, winning the last 21 consecutive matchups. Concordia's last loss to MSU Moorhead came in a four-set decision in November, 2007 at the Gangelhoff Center. The Golden Bears took both matchup last season, winning in four sets in September in Moorhead and sweeping the Dragons at the Gangelhoff Center in November.
