ST. PAUL, Minn. – Concordia-St. Paul head track & field coach Sam Johnson has announced the hiring of Jacob Dennison as the program's full-time assistant coach. Dennison will coach throws and work as recruiting coordinators for the Golden Bears.

"Denny is a young coach that stood out in the search process because of a mix of maturity that outpaces his age, humbleness in understanding where he is at in his journey as a coach and his desire to succeed with the opportunities he earns."

The Middleton, Wisconsin native joins CSP after spending last season working as a volunteer assistant coach working with the throwers at the University of Wisconsin. During his time with the Badgers, Dennison assisted a program that had seven All-Americans and four school record holders.

"I am beyond excited for the opportunity to be a part of the culture here at CSP. My goal is to help my athletes be the best Golden Bear they can be on and off the track during their academic journey and beyond," said Dennison.

Prior to working at UW, Dennison was a six-time WIAC Championships qualifier, three in the weight throw and three in the hammer throw. He helped the Titans to WIAC Indoor and Outdoor Team Championships during his career.

Dennison also worked as the throws coach at Valley Christian High School during the final two seasons of his collegiate career, helping the throwers break four school records while coaching a WIAA top-10 finisher.
