ST. PAUL, Minn. – Concordia-St. Paul baseball (16-20, 12-11 NSIC) is set to meet the St. Olaf Oles (7-13, 3-4 MIAC) in a non-conference road test in Northfield, Minnesota.
The midweek contest has been moved up a day to Wednesday from Thursday with the first pitch slated for 3:30 p.m. at Mark Almi Field.

SEASON LEADERS
Kal Brohmer has been efficient at the plate this season, slashing .375/.477/.477 with 13 multi-hit games. The sophomore first baseman has collected 45 hits that includes eight doubles and a pair of triples. He has added 24 runs, 24 RBIs and 25 walks.
Noah Juliar has shown his power and consistency from the plate with a team-leading five home runs and a batting average of .336. The sophomore outfielder has driven in 36 runners and crossed the plate 29 times, while reaching safely with 12 walks and a hit-by-pitch.
Bryce Nelson has excelled from the plate with a slash line of .328/.386/.401 with 25 hits, 27 runs and 22 RBIs. The junior third baseman has reached base safely via walk 10 times and has added seven stolen bases on nine attempts.
Jonah Lewis (3-4) has an earned run average of 3.99 in a team-leading 49.2 innings pitched. The junior right-hander has faced 196 batters with 40 strikeouts and has only walked 16 batters.
Korey Dahlberg (4-5) leads the pitching staff in strikeouts with 44 in 47.1 innings pitched this season. The sophomore right-hander has faced 194 batters with only 15 walks and two home runs allowed.
Eric Lundell (2-2) (5) has shined in the relief role for Concordia this season. The junior right-hander has appeared in 17 games with an earned run average of 2.64 and 24 strikeouts.
LAST TIME OUT
Concordia baseball dropped last weekend's series with the Wayne State Wildcats, 2-1, after winning the series opener and dropping the doubleheader finale last Sunday.
After spotting the WSC the first run of the game in the fourth inning, the Golden Bears were able to rally off four unanswered runs that included a three run six innings to capture the series opener, 4-1.
Concordia collected a total of six hits.
Mason Wolf led the Golden Bears with an RBI double, a run and a pair of walks at the plate. Juliar added a multi-hit game with a pair of hits in three plate appearances, which included a sacrifice bunt.
Dahlberg (4-5) collected his fourth winning decision of the season with four strikeouts on the bump. The sophomore allowed five hits, zero earned runs and three walks in 6.0 innings of work.
Leo Bustos and Lundell closed the show with a pair of strikeouts each. The duo held the Wildcats scoreless in the final 3.0 innings of play.
In game two, Wayne State used strong pitching, a trio of runs and left nine Golden Bears stranded throughout the seven-inning contest to secure the 3-0 victory.
Wolf and
Nick Thimsen used multi-hit games to combine for four of Concordia's seven hits.
Mason Nadolney added the lone extra-base hit for the Golden Bears with a double in the fifth inning.
Lewis (3-4) made his ninth start of the season and pitched all 6.0 innings for the Golden Bears. The sophomore righty recorded a pair of strikeouts while allowing five hits, three runs and two walks on the bump.
In the doubleheader finale, a late comeback bid saw the Golden Bears score six unanswered runs in the seventh and eighth innings, but it was not enough to overcome the 7-0 deficit.
Brohmer and
Justin McGuigan swung the bats well with three hits and four RBIs combined. Nelson and Wolf also added a pair of hits for the Golden Bears, who finished with 11 total in game two.
Christian Morel (2-5) appeared on the mound as the starter with a strikeout for CSP in game two. The junior went 3.0 innings with six hits, four runs and a walk.
Reece Piontek provided 3.0 solid innings from the bullpen. The sophomore held the Wildcats scoreless with a pair of strikeouts and only one hit allowed.
COACH LERNER RETURNS TO ST. OLAF
Head Coach
Neil Lerner will return to his alma mater where he left a legacy with honors as a Division III All-American, All-Midwest Region and two-time All-MIAC athlete. The 1998 team captain holds the school record for career walks, ranks second in stolen bases and third in runs scored.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST THE OLES
The Golden Bears and the Oles have met four times, dating back to April 25, 1993. St. Olaf has claimed all four games, including a pair of one-run victories in their last meeting.
ABOUT THE OLES
St. Olaf is currently 7-13 (3-4) this season and are coming off a series with the Augsburg Auggies last Wednesday. The Oles claimed game one, 12-3, and were leading game two, 15-11, before action was cut short due to darkness.
Prior to the Augsburg series, St. Olaf hit a tough stretch, losing six straight with doubleheader losses #25 Wisconsin-La Crosse, Hamline and Bethel.
The Oles longest winning streak of the season of three games was kicked off with the biggest win of the season against #25 Augustana College (Ill.) with a convincing 10-3 victory in Winter Haven, Florida before sweeping Saint Mary's with a pair of one-run victories.
The player to watch for the Oles is Sam Lavin. The junior has slashed .403/.476/.642 this season with 27 hits, 17 runs and 19 RBIs. He has reached base safely nine times via walk and three times after being hit-by-pitch.
For the pitchers, Kevin Steel has led the way with 14 strikeouts and a 2.91 earned run average. The freshman has allowed 16 hits, seven earned runs and nine walks in 21.2 innings pitched.
