ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul track and field teams return home to Sea Foam Stadium this weekend as CSP hosts the Holst Invitational on Saturday.
MEET INFORMATION
At Concordia's annual home meet, field events are set to begin at 10 a.m. with running events also tentatively scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Due to strong winds in the forecast, vertical jumps will be contested inside Gangelhoff Center. The full schedule will be available closer to the meet.
LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, the Golden Bear men took second while the women took sixth at the Norse Invite.
Arika Harbo added a school record in the long jump while finishing second in the heptathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
On her trip to the west coast, Harbo tallied 5193 points to take home second in the heptathlon as she finished in the top six in five of seven events, moving her into seventh in the country in the event. She shined in the jumps as she won the high jump with a height of 5' 5.75" before setting a new school record in the long jump with a second-place finish. Her distance of 19' 1.5" edged a 20-year-old record of 19' 1" set by Adejoke Adedeji set all the way back in 2003 and moved her into 31st in the nation in the event.
In Iowa, CSP grabbed wins in the shot put, the discus and the hammer as
CJ Picazo won the shot put and discus while
Eben Mundfrom won the hammer. Picazo cleared 48' 3.25" in the shot put and 160' 4" in the discus. Mundfrom put up a distance of 185' 10" in the hammer.
Ella Paaverud grabbed both wins for the women as her mark of 5' 5" in the high jump and her distance of 159' 10" in the hammer earned her the top spot in each.
