ST. PAUL, Minn. – Due to weather, the Concordia-St. Paul baseball (9-9, 5-0 NSIC) weekend series against the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles (14-9, 4-1 NSIC) has been moved to Westside High School in Omaha, Neb.
First pitch for the series opener on Saturday is scheduled for 6 p.m. and the doubleheader on Sunday is slated for 12 p.m. with game two following shortly after.

The Golden Bears extended their undefeated start to conference play to five games with a sweep of the University of Mary Marauders last Wednesday at the Woodside Sports Complex in Mauston, Wis.
The first game of the doubleheader was full of momentum shifts as the Marauders jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the opening innings. However, CSP responded with five runs in the third inning and added an insurance run in the fifth to collect the 6-5 win.
The second game of the doubleheader was the longest game in the Division II era for the Golden Bears, which was filled with lead changes and momentum shifts throughout the 16 innings. Mary led the game for six innings until the Golden Bears added two runs to tie the game at 4-4. CSP sealed the victory with a two RBI single from
Noah Juliar in the bottom of the 16th to secure the 7-6 win.
Concordia collected a batting average of .301 in game two, finishing with 13 runs, 25 hits, 10 RBIs and nine walks at the plate. The Golden Bears would also go a perfect 2-for-2 in stolen base opportunities.
Juliar went a combined 4-10 at the plate for the Golden Bears. The sophomore outfielder also drove in a pair and recorded three runs of his own.
Bryce Nelson added a strong performance from the plate, slashing .500/.500/.800 with five hits on 10 attempts that included a double and a triple.
Justin McGuigan also provided an edge for CSP at the plate with four hits in 10 plate appearances.
Mason Nadolney proved to play a pivot role in game two with a 2-5 outing that included a double and two RBIs.
On the mound, the Golden Bears posted a 2.74 earned run average in 23.0 innings, allowing 21 hits and 11 runs (seven earned) in the two games combined.
Gavin Rusch (1-0) collected his first career win in game one after going 4.0 innings with a strikeout and zero walks.
Isaac Johnson (1-0) also picked up his career win in relief in game two after going in for the final 0.2 innings.
Eric Lundell appeared in both games for CSP and earned the save in game one. The sophomore collected five strikeouts and allowed three hits while walking zero batters in 5.1 innings.
Matt Sherman also provided 3.0 solid innings with four strikeouts and two walks for the Golden Bears.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST UMC
The Golden Bears and Golden Eagles have met 62 times dating back to April 28, 2000, with the Golden Bears' holding a 48-14 all-time advantage. CSP claimed the first game between the two schools with a 5-3 victory in Crookston and claimed the last matchup with UMC last season with an 8-4 win. Concordia holds the longest winning streak in the series which stands at 43 games from 2003-2018. The Golden Bears have accumulated 542 total runs with an average of 8.74 runs a game.
ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Minnesota Crookston posted an 18-27 (10-16 NSIC) record in the 2022 campaign and was picked to finish ninth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll with 98 points.
The Golden Eagles currently hold a record of 14-9 (4-1 NSIC) this season. UMC is coming off a split series with the Winona State Warriors last Tuesday after falling in game one 3-4 before claiming game two via rule, 15-0.
Prior to the matchup with the Warriors, the Golden Eagles went on a seven-game winning streak that included a sweep of the Wayne State Wildcats to kickoff conference play.
Five of the Golden Eagles' losses have come by three runs or less. Their largest loss of the season came against Willington University (Del.), 1-11, at the Russ Matt Invitational in Florida. On the contrary, UMC has claimed three of their victories by three runs or less, while the largest margin of victory came against Wayne State, 21-5, in Nebraska.
The player to watch for the Golden Eagles is Mike Hallquist. The junior third baseman has posted a batting average of .481 with 38 hits that include 12 doubles, eight homers and two triples. He has also scored 28 runs and driven in 32.
The pitcher to watch for UMC is left-handed pitcher Alex Koep. The junior has posted an earned run average of 2.28 in 23.2 innings pitched, recording 36 strikeouts and 10 walks. He has allowed 15 hits and seven runs.
