ST. PAUL, Minn. - No. 2 Concordia-St. Paul volleyball (17-1, 8-1 NSIC) swept the Minot State Beavers (2-15, 1-8 NSIC) on Homecoming Saturday to extend their winning streak to eight at the Gangelhoff Center.

The Golden Bears will return to action next Thursday to take on the No. 8 Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs. The first serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. from the Gangelhoff Center.

Concordia volleyball improved to 14-0 versus the Beavers with set scores of 25-8, 25-8 and 25-19 on Saturday. As a team, the Golden Bears hit an efficient .485% with 40 kills and 32 digs. In addition, CSP added 11 blocks with three of them being solo finishes by
Teagan Starkey,
Claudia Stahlke and
Emma Schmidt.

Ellie Sieling was a do it all player for the Golden Bears. The sophomore started the match at libero before moving around the court for the final two sets. She finished tied with a match-leading seven kills, while adding nine digs and an assist. Senior
Makenna Berger also shined for CSP with seven kills, three digs, an ace and an assist.

Halle Bemmels finished with a match-leading 19 assists, adding three digs and a pair of aces for the Navy and Gold. Starkey made the start at setter for the Golden Bears and collected 11 assists in the one set she participated in.
In the first set, the starters rolled the Beavers with a set score of 25-8 by collecting a perfect attack rate with a .600% hitting and 14 total kills.
Sophia Andersen led the Golden Bears with five kills, while Schmidt added four kills and four digs. CSP smothered MISU at the net with 10 blocks in the set.

Their momentum carried over to the second set with a duplicated set score of 25-8 as CSP hit a match best .667% with 11 kills and nine digs. Berger led the Golden Bears with four kills, while Bemmels notched six assists in her first appearance at setter this season. After giving up the opening point of the set to the Beavers, Concordia dominated the remainder of the set as they concluded the set on a 10-1 run.

The Beavers battled and had their most successful set of the match in the third. However, the Golden Bears never relinquished their lead as E. Sieling helped propel them to a 25-19 set victory with six kills. Despite hitting their match low of .333%, Concordia tallied their most set kills with 16.
