LAST TIME OUT
Over the weekend, the Golden Bears had a pair of tight battles at Gangelhoff Center as they dropped a Friday night contest to Minnesota Duluth by a score of 80-78 before falling to St. Cloud State 87-78 in overtime on Saturday.

On Friday, it was back and forth throughout the entire night as both teams traded runs in an intense, physical matchup. After building an eight point advantage early in the second half, the Golden Bears saw the Bulldogs swing it in their favor with a 72-62 lead with 4:04 play, but CSP would not go away as they stormed back to within a point before seeing their comeback bid fall short.

Antwan Kimmons filled the stat sheet with 24 points, nine assists and five boards while hitting 9-16 from the floor. It was the junior's ninth 20+ point performance and third in the past four games. Macrus Skeete added a double-double, his second of the season, with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the game.

Trailing 52-34 with 13:39 to play on Saturday, Concordia took control with a massive 43-22 run to take a late 77-74 lead before the Huskies knocked down three free throws in the final 8.1 seconds to send it to an extra session. From there, SCSU scored 10 of 11 points after regulation to hand CSP an 87-78 loss.

Kimmons put up his fourth 30-point effort of the season as he filled it up with 30 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals on an incredible 10-13 from the floor and 10-11 from the charity stripe. Ian Sluice gave CSP a big boost from the bench as he hit 4-6 from deep and 5-7 overall to finish with a career-best 17 points. Jacob Everson added a solid 13 points, five boards, five assists, two steals and two blocks while hitting 5-9 from the floor.

BEMIDJI STATE SERIES HISTORY
The Golden Bears enter the weekend with a nearly even record against the Beavers as CSP has gone 17-19 in the previous 36 meetings. Concordia has turned the momentum in their favor since 2005 as they have won 16 of the last 25 meetings since then. CSP had a four-game winning streak in the series snapped in 2017-18 with BSU winning the last five meetings prior to last season. Both teams have found success on their home court as Concordia has gone 12-6 in St. Paul while the Beavers have gone 13-5 in Bemidji.

LAST MEETING WITH THE BEAVERS
Back on Jan. 15, 2022, CSP fought their way to a 98-90 overtime victory over Bemidji State at Gangelhoff Center.

The Golden Bears claimed their first NSIC victory under head coach Matt Fletcher as they erased an eight-point deficit with 7:38 to play to force overtime before dominating the extra session to come out on top.

Concordia's starting five carried the load in the team's biggest offensive outburst as they combined for 94 of the team's season-best 98 points on the night with all five scoring at least 13. The team's 98 points were the most since surpassing triple digits in a 107-91 win against St. Cloud State on Jan. 18, 2019. CSP connected on a season-high 53.2% (33-62) from the floor while they hit 38.5% (10-26) from deep and 81.5% (22-27) from the free throw line.

Marcus Skeete filled the stat sheet with 16 points, six assists and six rebounds on 7-11 shooting while Jacob Everson had 14 points, five boards and four assists and Caden Hoffman had 13 points, four rebounds and three assists.

MINNESOTA CROOKSTON SERIES HISTORY
The Golden Bears head into the weekend with a 25-9 record all-time against the Golden Eagles. Concordia's best stretch against UMC came from 2005-2016 as they won 15 of 16 meetings during that span. Since then, Minnesota Crookston has turned the tide a bit with five wins in the past eight meetings. CSP has been especially impressive on their home court as they have gone 13-3 against the Golden Eagles at home compared to 12-5 in Crookston.

LAST MEETING WITH THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Exactly a year ago to the day of this year's meeting, the Golden Bears were unable to hang onto a second half advantage as they fell to Minnesota Crookston 77-72 at Gangelhoff Center.

The Golden Bears led by as many as seven points with 11:10 on the clock and maintained a one-point edge with just over a minute to play, but the Golden Eagles finished on an 11-3 run to pick up just their ninth win in 34 meetings between the two schools.

After an offensive outburst in which the Golden Bears shot 53.3% (16-30) and the Golden Eagles shot 51.9% (14-27) before the break, defense shined in the second half as CSP held UMC to 30.3% (10-33) in the final 20 minutes while shooting just 40.7% (11-27) on the offensive end.

Marcus Skeete tallied his fifth career double-double, and second of the season, as he finished the night with 18 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. Jack Stensgard added 11 points, six boards and five assists while George Scharlau added 11 points and three rebounds while knocking down 3-4 from deep.

STAT LEADERS
So far this season, the Golden Bears have a few players that rank near the top of the league in several different categories.

His 122 free throw attempts and 89 made free throws both lead the NSIC and sit in fourth and fifth in the nation, respectively. His 4.4 assists per game rank fifth and his 53.7% field goal percentage rank seventh in the conference.

Sophomore Marcus Skeete has added 4.8 defensive rebounds per game and 94 total rebounds, good for 12th and 13th in the NSIC, respectively.

As a team, CSP ranks in the top half of the league in several areas as their 13.75 turnovers forced per game lead the league and their 8.7 threes made per game rank sixth. Their 47.2% field goal percentage also rank seventh and their 12.9 free throws made per game rank eighth.
