ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul baseball team (1-3) continues non-conference play this week as they head south to the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. The Golden Bears are set for seven games in seven days with play beginning on Saturday and running until next Friday.
SCHEDULE INFORMATION
Concordia will face seven different NCAA Division II opponents over a seven day stretch from Mar. 5-11 with two games on Monday, Mar. 7 before an off day on Tuesday, Mar. 8.
Concordia opens up play at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday night against Saginaw Valley State before taking on Lewis on Sunday at 12:45 p.m. CSP's lone two-game day on Monday will see them face Malone at 9:30 a.m. and Minnesota State at 5 p.m.
After their scheduled off day, the Golden Bears will travel to Rollins for a 12 p.m. start against Rollins on Wednesday before facing West Virginia Wesleyan on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Concordia concludes the week against Ashland at 9 a.m. on Friday.

LAST TIME OUT
In the season-opening series against Newman back on Feb. 20-21, Concordia rolled to a 20-1 win in seven innings in the first game of the series before dropping the final three games.
On the weekend, sophomore second baseman
Bryce Nelson provided the power, with all three of his hits leaving the yard, driving in seven runs and scoring five times in the four game series. Junior infielder
Jarod Wandersee led the lineup by hitting .538/.647/.769 with a 1.416 OPS, scoring and driving in six runs including a home run, four walks and no strikeouts while adding a pair of steals.
Overall, Concordia had a .409 team on base percentage and scored 38 runs to Newman's 26 despite dropping the series. CSP also blasted six home runs among its 12 extra base hits and had four starters hit at least .400 over the series.
In the win in the opener, the top five hitters in the Concordia batting order were nearly impossible to get out as they combined to go 12-18 (.667) with three homers, two doubles, four walks, 15 runs scored and 12 driven in.
Jarod Wandersee and
Chandler Ibach each reached base safely five times as Wandersee went 3-4 with a home run, two walks, four runs and four RBIs while Ibach finished a triple shy of the cycle, going 4-5 with a walk, four runs driven in and three runs scored.
Bryce Nelson added a homer of his own, the first of his career, as he scored twice and drove in a pair.
Matt Pietsch chipped in two hits in three at-bats to go along with a walk, four runs scored, and two RBIs while Thimsen went 2-4 with a double and two runs scored.
Jack Young reached base three times, going 1-2 with a pair of walks, three RBIs and two runs while
Mason Nadolney and
Mason Wolf had two walks apiece.
