LAST TIME OUT
Last Saturday at Gangelhoff Center, Concordia erased a double-digit second half deficit before falling just short in a 66-63 loss to Winona State.

A trio of made free throws for the Warriors extended their lead to five with under a minute to play, but Concordia stepped up once again as Everson hit another jumper and the Golden Bears forced a turnover on the subsequent inbound pass to give themselves the ball while down by three with just 38 seconds remaining. The Bears took three shots and grabbed two offensive boards on their final possession, but none of the shots fell as the Warriors hung on for the three-point win.

The Golden Bears were the more efficient team shooting the ball, knocking down 20 of their 43 shots (46.5%) compared to Winona's 23-52 (44.2%) performance.

Jacob Everson stepped up big in the second half and tied his career high with 21 points on an efficient 6-10 shooting performance, with 19 of his 21 points coming after halftime. He also tied for the team lead with five rebounds. Marcus Skeete matched him with 21 points on 7-15 shooting from the floor, including 4-9 from beyond the arc, and added four rebounds and three assists.

Sunday John scored a season-high six points off the bench while Sean Mathieu was just behind him with five. Antwan Kimmons and Jared Perry each tied with a team-leading five rebounds while adding three and two points, respectively.

WAYNE STATE SERIES HISTORY
Heading into the weekend, the Golden Bears sit at 19-28 in the all-time series with the Wildcats. Since a stretch from 2006-2011 that saw Concordia win nine of 10 meetings, Wayne State has turned the momentum in their favor with 18 wins in the last 23 and 11 of 12. Concordia has found much more success on their home court as they have gone 12-14 in St. Paul and 7-15 in Wayne in the series.

LAST MEETING WITH THE WILDCATS
Back on Feb. 12, CSP saw a halftime lead disappear as they fell to Wayne State 80-64 at Gangelhoff Center.

A solid shooting performance in the opening half gave the Golden Bears a 41-40 lead at the break, but the Wildcats turned the tables after the break as they held CSP to just 23 points in the game's final 20 minutes to drop Concordia to 19-28 in the all-time series as WSC grabbed their 11th win in the past 12.

It was a tale of two halves on the offensive end for Concordia as they knocked down 48.5% (16-33) from the floor and 7-16 (43.8%) from beyond the arc in the first half before dropping to 33.3% (9-27) overall and 20.0% (2-10) from deep after halftime.

On the other end, CSP's defense limited Wayne State to just 43.7% (31-71) on the night, but the Wildcats used a big 46-29 rebounding edge, including a 16-5 edge on the offensive glass, to aid their effort. That edge led to a 21-0 advantage in second chance points for WSC.

Concordia had three different players score 14 points in the game as Jacob EversonJack Stensgard and Elijah Ormiston all reached that mark. Everson was an efficient 6-8 shooting and 2-2 from three-point range while pulling down a team-best six rebounds to go along with three assists. Stensgard was nearly as efficient as he connected on 5-7 overall and 2-3 from deep while also picking up three boards and three steals.

AUGUSTANA SERIES HISTORY
The Golden Bears and Vikings will be meeting for the 34th time in the all-time series as Augustana holds a 28-5 edge in the previous 33 meetings. Augie has been especially dominant in the recent history of the series as they have won 21 in a row over CSP dating back to Jan. 3, 2012. Concordia's has compiled a 4-12 record on their home court while picking up just one win in 16 trips to Augustana. In 26 meetings in conference play, Augie holds a record of 24-2.

LAST MEETING WITH THE VIKINGS
Back on Feb. 11, the Golden Bears saw #9 Augustana pull away late in an 88-72 loss at Gangelhoff Center.

The Golden Bears buried 8-12 (66.7%) from beyond the arc in the opening half to keep it within five points, but the Vikings continued to control play on the glass to make it 21 wins in the row while dropping CSP to 5-28 in the all-time series.

Concordia connected on double-digit threes for the ninth time on the season as they finished the night at 11-26 (42.3%) from three-point range and 26-55 (47.3%) overall from the floor.

The Vikings did more of their damage down low as they finished with a 42-28 edge in points in the paint while using a 42-22 edge on the glass, including a 16-4 edge on the offensive glass, for an 18-4 edge in second chance points. Augie also utilized a 22-0 advantage in fast break points as well as an 18-6 edge in points off turnovers while Concordia received more production from their bench with a 20-4 advantage in bench scoring.

The duo of Caden Hoffman and Ian Sluice shouldered the load from deep as Hoffman knocked down 6-10 from three-point range for a season-best 18 points while Sluice hit 6-10 from the floor and 4-8 from beyond the arc for a career-high 16 points. They were especially impressive in the opening 20 minutes as they combined to go 7-9 from three for 21 points before the break. Hoffman added six assists and four rebounds while Sluice pulled down a pair of boards.

STAT LEADERS
So far this season, the Golden Bears have a few players that rank near the top of the league in several different categories.

Senior guard Antwan Kimmons has been a big-time contributor in his first season in navy and gold as he leads the league and ranks 10th in the nation in scoring with 22.4 points per game. His 63 free throw attempts also lead the NSIC and sit in seventh in the nation while his 1.62 steals per game rank fifth in the conference and his 54.8% field goal percentage ranks eighth.

Sophomore Marcus Skeete has added 5.8 rebounds per game, good for sixth in the NSIC, while his 52.6% shooting percentage and 11 steals each rank 10th in the league. His 15.2 points per game also rank 13th in the conference.

As a team, CSP ranks in the top half of the league in several areas as their 9.1 threes made per game, 14.12 turnovers forced per game and 19.5 free throw attempts per game are all good for fourth in the NSIC.
