LAST TIME OUT
Over the weekend, the Golden Bears opened the season with a pair of losses at the Holiday Inn Express Regional Challenge as they fell to Newman 97-85 on Friday and Rogers State 77-73 on Saturday.

In Friday's loss, Concordia's bench provided a spark as they held a 33-20 edge in bench scoring over the Newman reserves. Six different CSP players scored off the bench, led by nine points on three three-pointers from both Ian Sluice and John Grigsby.

Marcus Skeete and Antwan Kimmons combined for 41 of the 52 points for the starting unit as Skeete needed just nine shots to score 24 points while Kimmons had 17. Skeete hit 6-9 from the floor and 11-15 from the free throw line while pulling down eight rebounds and Kimmons connected on 3-8 shooting and 10-11 from the charity stripe while dishing out four assists and three boards.

On Saturday, CSP erased a double-digit second half deficit to take a 69-67 lead with 2:42 to go, but they were unable to hang on as RSU finished on a 10-4 run to secure the win.

Antwan Kimmons led the Golden Bears in scoring, putting up a career high 30 points, shooting 9-16 from the field, and 11-17 from the foul line. The Northern Iowa transfer also grabbed five rebounds, two assists, and a steal to go along with the scoring output. Marcus Skeete followed up his 24-point performance last night with 14 against RSU. Skeete went 4-8 on 3-point attempts and matched Kimmons with five rebounds and two assists.

BEMIDJI STATE SERIES HISTORY
The Golden Bears enter the weekend with a nearly even record against the Beavers as CSP has gone 17-19 in the previous 36 meetings. Concordia has turned the momentum in their favor since 2005 as they have won 16 of the last 25 meetings since then. CSP had a four-game winning streak in the series snapped in 2017-18 with BSU winning five in a row before CSP's victory last season. Both teams have found success on their home court as Concordia has gone 12-6 in St. Paul while the Beavers have gone 13-5 in Bemidji.

LAST MEETING WITH THE BEAVERS
Back on Jan. 15, Concordia fought their way to a 98-90 overtime victory over Bemidji State.

The Golden Bears claimed their first NSIC victory under head coach Matt Fletcher as they erased an eight-point deficit with 7:38 to play to force overtime before dominating the extra session to come out on top.

Concordia's starting five carried the load in the team's biggest offensive outburst as they combined for 94 of the team's season-best 98 points on the night with all five scoring at least 13. The team's 98 points were the most since surpassing triple digits in a 107-91 win against St. Cloud State on Jan. 18, 2019. CSP connected on a season-high 53.2% (33-62) from the floor while they hit 38.5% (10-26) from deep and 81.5% (22-27) from the free throw line.

Marcus Skeete filled the stat sheet with 16 points, six assists and six rebounds on 7-11 shooting while Jacob Everson had 14 points, five boards and four assists and Caden Hoffman had 13 points, four rebounds and three assists.

NORTHERN MICHIGAN SERIES HISTORY
The Golden Bears and the Wildcats have met just one time heading into this season as NMU claimed a 74-63 win at Gangelhoff Center back on Nov. 26, 2005.
