CONFERENCE STANDINGS
The NSIC conference tournament is right around the corner with only three games remaining in the regular season.

The top eight teams will reach the NSIC tournament, with the top four teams earning the right to host the first round at their home venues.

The defending NSIC Champions #14 Minnesota State Mavericks continue to lead the conference with 28 points this season. The Mavericks will face off with the Golden Bears in the regular season finale in Mankato on October 27th.

The Mavericks are followed by Bemidji State, who sit just one point behind them. The Beavers' only loss in conference play was against the Golden Bears a month ago.

Minot State, who tied CSP last Sunday, and Augustana, who defeated the Golden Bears in the conference opener in early September, round out the top four in the current conference standings. The Beavers have accumulated 25 points, while the Vikings have 22 so far this season.

CSP and Mary are currently tied for fifth with 21 points. However, Mary would have the tiebreaker because they won the head-to-head battle last Friday in St. Paul. Neither team that CSP plays this upcoming week is in contention to make the conference tournament.

Northern State (25 points), Winona State (18 points) and Minnesota Duluth (18 points) round out the top eight, and St. Cloud State (16 points) is just outside looking in.

RECAP OF THE WEEK
The Golden Bears dropped a spot in the conference standings and are currently tied with UMARY for fifth, just one point behind Augustana.

Mary responded in the 13th minute with their first goal of the night in the seventh minute by Kendra Park with the assist coming from Rio Spruenken.

Seven minutes later, Park was able to connect with her second goal of the match off an assist from Yasmina Dokara, after she saw an opportunity with the goal wide open and was able to maneuver past the CSP defenders in the box.

K. Anderson added two more shots before the half came to an end with the Golden Bears trailing the Marauders 2-0.

Abby Kloiber added a strong attempt on goal in the 48th minute and K. Anderson followed with a shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the Marauders' goalie would add two more saves to her total.

In the 73rd minute, Ashlyn Waldon collected back-to-back impressive saves in the bottom left corner of the goal, after winning a one-on-one battle with the Mary forward who had pulled away from the rest of the field.

Kloiber added the final shot on goal for the Golden Bears in the 76th minute that was collected by the Marauders' keeper in the top left corner of the goal.

Jada Cannady nearly put the Golden Bears in the score column after putting up a shot in the 81st minute that deflected off the goal post and out of play.

The Golden Bears capped off the week with a 0-0 tie against the number two team in the conference, Minot State.

The Golden Bears outshot the Beaves 3-to-2 in the first half of play and forced three corner kicks in a first half that had split possession times.

Haley Rudebusch added the first shot of the match in the 17th minute of play that sailed out of the right side of the goal.

In the 27th minute, K. Anderson added a shot that would sail out of the top right of the goal and out of play.

Pawlyshyn added the shot of the half after she had a step on a Beaver defender and was met by the goalkeeper outside of the box. However, she would collide with the goalie and barely get a piece of the ball that rolled just to the left of the goal.

CSP added six more shots to bring the game total to nine and three more corners to bring the game total to six in the second half. The Golden Bears finished the game with a slight edge in the possession time by having the ball for 52 percent of the half.

Pawlyshyn added the first shot on goal for the Golden Bears in the match in the 75th minute but the Beavers goalie was able to get a paw on the ball and force it out of the goal. She added another shot on goal in the 82nd minute by the Minot State keeper, who dropped to her knees to corral the ball.

The Golden Bears' last chance came in the 88th minute by Rudebusch, but the ball was collected by the Beaver's keeper in the bottom right part of the goal.

Bordson, Rudebusch and Miller all played in the game's entirety, while Kloiber and Sydney Manthana anchored the Golden Bears with a strong outing in the midfield.
