ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia-St. Paul soccer (6-5-4, 5-3-3 NSIC) played to a 0-0 draw with the Minot State Beavers (7-2-6, 5-2-3 NSIC) at Sea Foam Stadium on Mental Health Awareness Day.
The Golden Bears used a strong defensive performance and a pair of second-half saves to force a 0-0 against the Beavers. Sophie Pawlyshyn finished with a match-high four shots off the bench for the Golden Bears and Haley Rudebusch added three shots of her own.
"I thought we were resilient and defended where we needed to defend," Coach Steve Bellis commented. "We were tight and didn't give them any opportunities, and I thought we did well in the back because the central mid-field three were fantastic."
"Ultimately in the second half, we created more chances than they did and didn't capitalize on them," Bellis added. "We created chances which is good, and eventually something will fall our way."
Bellis concluded with, "Overall a really good performance against a really good Minot team, and we look forward to another home game on Friday."
HOW IT HAPPENED

Pawlyshyn added the first shot on goal for the Golden Bears in the match in the 75th minute but the Beavers goalie was able to get a paw on the ball and force it out of the goal. She added another shot on goal in the 82nd minute by the Minot State keeper, who dropped to her knees to corral the ball.
