It was the Huskies that got off to a quick start with six of the first eight points to open the match before CSP turned it around to even it up at 7-7. The lead traded hands four times over the next 13 points as SCSU held a 14-13 lead before the Golden Bears rattled off a 6-0 run to take the lead for good at 19-14. Another 5-0 run a few points later gave Concordia a 25-16 win in the first.
That momentum carried over into the second set as they opened on a 5-1 run before ballooning the lead even further from there. With the score at 6-3, the Golden Bears scored 14 of the next 15 points, capped by nine straight on a dominant Schmidt serving run to make it 20-4. The Huskies rebounded a bit from there, but it was too big of a hill to climb as Concordia took a 2-0 lead with a 25-12 set win.
The third set featured seven ties and five lead changes through the first 19 points before CSP took control with a 3-0 run to jump in front 11-9. Concordia continued to add to their lead as they pushed it to six at 18-12 and eight at 23-15 before settling with a 25-19 win to complete the sweep.
